Nichole McDaniel, LMSW

Supervised By: Vanessa Valles, LCSW

Born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, my journey in compassionate service began at 16 as a Certified Nursing Assistant. I later served as a Behavioral Health Technician in the military, supporting soldiers with PTSD, anxiety, and depression.

After my honorable discharge, I earned degrees in Human Development, Early Childhood Education, and Social Work. I worked as a residential care manager for youth with complex backgrounds and founded Mindful Tutoring LLC to address emotional barriers to academic success.

My personal experiences in the foster system, with parents facing mental health challenges, and as a military servicewoman provide unique insights into trauma's effects on individuals and families.

In my spare time, I enjoy workouts, family time, and caring for my chickens and mini pig.
I'm dedicated to improving lives through compassionate, individualized mental health care.

Area of Expertise

I specialize in complex trauma, leveraging my extensive experience with early childhood trauma and military/first responder experiences. Complex trauma often arises from prolonged or repeated traumatic events, leading to a range of symptoms that significantly impact mental health.

In early childhood trauma, individuals may face developmental delays, attachment issues, emotional dysregulation, and persistent fear, which can carry into adulthood as chronic anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties.

For military-related trauma, symptoms can include intense flashbacks, hypervigilance, insomnia, and feelings of guilt or shame. My background as a military servicewoman provides me with unique insights into these challenges.

Techniques I Use

I specialize in addressing complex trauma symptoms using evidence-based therapies such as EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, and trauma-informed care. My goal is to equip clients with the tools and support they need on their healing journey.

To enhance my skills, I’ve completed several specialized training programs, including:

- Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

- Art-Based Activities for Clinical Insight

- Addressing Core Beliefs of "Never Good Enough"

- Strategies for Treating Narcissism

These diverse trainings enable me to provide a comprehensive, tailored approach to each client's unique needs.
